Anthony (Tony) Wright


Tony joined Edwards as a trainee in 1998 qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2001, becoming a Partner with Edwards in 2006. Anthony has benefitted from the diversity of assignments available with Edwards to build a rounded knowledge and experience of all aspects of accountancy, whilst specialising in the areas of audit and corporate finance.
Tony has been a part of the team during numerous corporate transactions including acquisitions, mergers and disposals experiencing both sides of the due diligence process.

Tony works closely with a number of clients often producing detailed reports and analysis to assist clients to monitor their businesses, highlighting potential problem areas or opportunities for growth. This work often includes the production of business plans to cover medium and long term strategic planning incorporating profit projections and cash flow forecasts. The business plans are often used when clients are seeking to raise financing for a particular project, a process in which Anthony is actively involved.

Tony is a member if the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and is a member of the Audit and Assurance Faculty.

Tony is a keen follower of sport and has recently dusted off the golf clubs and started playing again.

Phillip (Phil) Beard


Phil has spent his whole career involved in the field of Taxation. He began life with the Inland Revenue in Manchester and subsequently joined the accountancy profession.

He qualified as a member of The Chartered Institute of Taxation in 1982 and was elected Chairman of the Mid Anglia branch and later Treasurer a position he has held for a number of years.

Before joining Edwards in 1996 Phil was a tax consultant with a major international accountancy practice and over the years he has advised on many major taxation assignments, involving issues such as company reconstructions, business disposals and acquisitions, Inheritance and Capital Gains Tax planning and H M Revenue & Customs enquiries also including presenting appeals before Tribunals. Over the years Phil has written articles and delivered lectures on taxation subjects and has provided consultancy advice to other accountancy practices.

Edward (Ed) Tully


Ed was the founder of the firm in 1993.

He originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979 having trained with a City firm.

After becoming a member of the ICAEW he gained international experience with Price Waterhouse working in the Caribbean and the USA. On returning to the UK Ed joined a high profile West End practice where he stayed for a number of years developing his client portfolio, until he took the plunge to create his own practice.

Since taking those first tentative steps he has never looked back and the practice has continued to flourish and grow. Through his long career Ed has developed a particular expertise in advising businesses on strategic planning matters helping clients to thrive and grow and also has been involved in a number of negotiations involving the sale and acquisition of businesses.
